Berceo: setenta y cinco años, ciento ochenta números

This issue of Berceo, the journal of social sciences and humanities of the Instituto de Estudios Riojanos, is number 180 and appears, moreover, exactly 75 years after the institution was founded. From the very beginning, the Institute launched the publication of this journal as one of the main avenues for disseminating research on Riojan topics—the principal objective of the Institute from its origin in 1946 to the present day. More than 1,400 articles (not including book reviews), written by over 600 authors, have filled the pages of the 180 issues of this journal, which initially had a quarterly frequency, has published two issues a year since 1972, and is one of the longest-running and most established local studies publications in Spain.
