Abstract

Coronavirus disease (COVID 19) is a respiratory infection caused by a new coronavirus responsible for more than 162 million cases worldwide and more than 3.3 million deaths.
The pathophysiology of respiratory failure due to COVID 19 can be described as an inflammation-induced pulmonary vasculitis leading to varying degrees of lung collapse secondary to edema and microthrombosis. It is very important to apply a therapeutic strategy for the management of these patients. In this work, we are going to address the different treatment steps according to the degree of pulmonary involvement of the patient, highlighting
ventilatory supports such as OAF, CPAP and BIPAP.
