The pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 has led to a global health crisis. It has been a challenge for the health system. Although it primarily affects respiratory system, other organs such as the digestive tract can be affected. Many studies have shown that COVID-19 elevates liver enzymes and causes abdominal pain, nausea and diarrhea. Furthermore, the pandemic has forced to reorganize endoscopy services because of the risk of virus transmission during endoscopies. In this article we review the relationship between COVID-19 and the digestive system.
