Abstract

Covid-19 as a cause of multi-organ and kidney damage, through different mechanisms, continues being a Public Health emergency. AKI is a frequent complication of Covid-19, especially in seriously ill patients or ICU patients, and it is a prognostic marker. It is necessary to
establish all the accurate measures to prevent AKI and if it occurs, we must carry out long-term monitoring due to the risk of kidney disorders. Dialysis patients are more vulnerable to infection and have a higher mortality than the general population. The incidence of infections in home
dialysis modalities has been lower than in hospital dialysis. Another population at high risk are patients with a kidney transplant, they are immunosuppressed, which involves a greater risk of  mortality. Changes should be made to the IS treatment depending on the clinical situation of the patient.
