COVID-19, caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2, is a multiorgan disease with a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations, including neurological symptoms with mild or severe presentation, which are expressed in all stages of the disease, from acute disease to those who develop long-term symptoms, what has been called post-COVID syndrome. Common neurological symptoms include headache, smell and taste disorders, and nonspecific symptoms, such as fatigue, myalgia or cognitive impairment, some of them with a chronic presentation. To these symptoms, in patients with severe illness and hospitalized, could be added encephalopathy
and dizziness, and less frequently but more seriously, cerebrovascular or neuromuscular diseases, as Guillain Barré syndrome. Here, we provide a brief review about the neurologic complications in patients with COVID-19.
