The COVID-19 pandemic has been a serious health problem that has put stress on all health systems, forcing them to rapidly restructure in order to meet the large increase in demand generated. In the case of Home Hospitalization (HAD), the peculiarity of providing hospital-level assistance in the patient’s place of residence allowed us to prioritize the care of the most vulnerable patients, while collaborating in performing diagnostic tests and follow-ups related to COVID-19, but with the difficulty of a less controlled and difficult environment (especially in social health centers, where the virulence of SARS-CoV2 was experienced more intensely during the first months of the pandemic). The flexibility of the organizational structure of the HAD Unit, its transversal relationship with the rest of the units and services, the multidisciplinary teamwork, and the adaptability of the staff, have been the pillars on which it has been able to maintain attention quality in difficult times.
