The DMSHT is a dependent service of the San Pedro hospital. Patients from hospitalization wards or emergencies who require close follow-up are admitted to this device since, due to their clinical situation or the presence of comorbidities, they are likely to evolve torpidly. Daily telephone follow-up is carried out to monitor symptoms and constants (temperature, SO2 and heart rate). This clinical control allows the early detection of the aggravation of the disease and the taking of adequate measures for its resolution, avoiding the development of complications. It also allows the patient’s spontaneous demands to be managed smoothly and reinforces the perception of safety on the part of the users. Access to a DMSHT after discharge would translate into a decrease in the average stay of patients hospitalized for Covid, and a lower rate of readmissions or urgent care demand. It is a way to optimize resources in times of pandemic
